Deposed CBS commentator Phil Simms’s first public comment since being replaced in the booth was brief, but pointed.
“I am not done,” Simms told Gary Myers of the New York Daily News in a text message.
This is not at all surprising. The 61-year-old had shown no desire to retire before he was abruptly replaced by Tony Romo as the color commentator on CBS Sports’s lead NFL team, and there’s little reason to believe he’d let CBS force him into an early retirement with their decision.

It’s also been made to sound that the Simms-to-Romo move was a bit of a blindside. That would probably motivate Simms even more to find a new avenue to continue his career.
