Rich Eisen delivers touching Stuart Scott tribute (Video)

Most sports fans watched the second wave of NFL playoff games with heavy hearts on Sunday, as the news of longtime ESPN personality Stuart Scott losing his battle with cancer has resonated with millions. Rich Eisen was certainly no exception.

Eisen, who worked as Scott’s on-air partner when Rich first started working for ESPN in 1996, delivered an emotional tribute on NFL Network’s “NFL Gameday” Sunday morning.

“Stuart would want you to know to keep fighting, and that he didn’t lose his battle with cancer,” Eisen said while choking back tears. “He fought it as bravely as he possibly could. And as you go to bed tonight, flip your pillow over to the cool side. And before you go to sleep, as Stuart would say, when you hit your knees tonight, and pray to the big man for his beautiful daughters who he loved, Taelor and Sydni.”

Scott’s ESPYS speech back in July was probably the most powerful 10 minutes of the 2014 sports year. You can watch it here. It’s worth every second of your time.
