Jon Jones finally broke his silence with a tweet sent on Sunday, marking his first public words since the news emerged that he tested positive for a steroid prior to his fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 214.
In his tweet sent Sunday afternoon from Albuquerque, the city where he trains, Jones said he felt “blessed” and “grateful.”
Times like these remind me how blessed I truly am. So much to be grateful for

News broke on Tuesday that Jones tested positive for Turinabol, an anabolic steroid, after his weigh-in the day before his fight with Cormier. Jones won the fight the next day by KO, marking his second victory over Cormier and 14th straight win overall.
Even though he is regarded as one of the best MMA fighters ever, Jones’ legacy has been complicated not just by out-of-ring controversies, but also a history of PED violations.
In addition to past DUI and hit-and-run incidents, Jones has failed a drug test for cocaine, clomiphene and now Turinabol. The latter two incidents happened when Jones was getting ready to face Cormier in their rematch.
