Matt Brown calls out GSP after win

Matt Brown UFC

Matt Brown beat Mike Pyle by first-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 26 in just 29 seconds on Saturday, and he took the opportunity to call out Georges St-Pierre after his quick win.

“Mike Pyle’s good enough to be champion. A lot of people don’t know that about him. He’s better than GSP, I guarantee,” Brown said to interviewer Joe Rogan.

Brown (18-11) then touted his six-fight winning streak and called out St-Pierre.

“So … where you at Georges? I dunno man, what’s up? Come on, six in a row!”

St-Pierre (24-2) is considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. He’s expected to face Johny Hendricks at UFC 167. GSP is well ahead of Brown, but if The Immortal continues to win in impressive fashion, he might get a shot at St-Pierre. We all know how well call-outs generally work.

As for Brown’s win over Pyle, it was swift to say the least. Brown quickly stunned Pyle with a right hand and then sent him to the ground with a right knee. Brown went in with a handful of hard finishing punches straight to Pyle’s head that were uncontested, leading to the fight being stopped after just 29 seconds.
