Ronda Rousey still has Mike Tyson on her side despite her loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 Sunday.
Iron Mike sent a tweet several hours after Rousey lost that supported the UFC fighter following her first career loss.
@RondaRousey a true champ is not defined by wins. You are glorious even still. @danawhite @ufc #ComeBackQueen pic.twitter.com/oDygRsrYTF

If you’re wondering why Tyson bothered to tweet his thoughts on Rousey, it’s because the two actually have a relationship.
Tyson watched Rousey train in Glendale, Calif. over the summer and spoke about how much he liked and admired her. Thanks to her quick, vicious knockouts and the way she was destroying her competition, Rousey drew comparisons to how dominant Tyson was early in his career. Tyson agreed with the comparisons and said watching Rousey reminds him of himself.
That’s a really nice tweet from Tyson. Not only did he help her confidence by continuing to call her a champion, but he also supports her comeback effort. Rousey is likely to face Holm in a rematch, and with encouragement like this, she has a good chance to rebound. If you missed the fight, you can see some of the highlights here.
