German newspaper made reference to building wall before Mexico match
A German newspaper has officially come out with the most — let’s call it creative — headline early on in the World Cup.
Prior to Germany’s match against Mexico on Sunday, a German newspaper made reference to Donald Trump’s mission to build a wall between the United States and its neighbor to the south.
Here go the tasteless jokes. German newspaper @welt ahead of #GerMex: “Sorry Mexico, today WE are building the wall (but promise to tear it down afterwards)” pic.twitter.com/wggX0IXcAi

Hey, at least they said they’re going to tear it down right after.
And guess what? The only wall that ended up being built was the one by Mexico’s defense, as the Mexican team pulled off a stunning 1-0 upset over the defending World Cup champions. That German newspaper may have to work even harder to come up with a creative headline after the shocking defeat.
