Panama coach promises to drink two bottles of vodka if they advance

Bolillo Gomez

Panama’s coach does not have the highest of expectations for his team in the World Cup, but he sure is making things interesting for his country.

Coach Bolillo Gomez told the media in Russia that if Panama advances out of the group stage, he will drink two bottles of vodka. The alternatives were for him to shave his head or dye his hair. Drinking the vodka is something he appears to find much easier to swallow.

Panama is in Group G along with England, Belgium and Tunisia. England and Belgium are heavily favored to make it to the knockout stage from the group, which explains Gomez’s vodka pledge.

Panama begins the World Cup against Belgium on June 18, then England on June 23, and their final match will be against Tunisia.
