Former WWE personalities reportedly considering class-action suit over royalties
A number of former WWE personalities are reportedly interested in joining up with a potential class-action lawsuit against WWE over royalties.
The suit, first reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and shared by Wrestling Inc., is over a loss of royalties thanks to WWE transitioning from DVD and blu-ray to the WWE Network. Personalities received royalties from DVD sales, but none from WWE Network, and wrestlers feel that they deserve a cut.
Doug Somers and the family of Eddie Gilbert have tried and failed to get a cut of royalties from WWE TV, but this is reportedly a different situation altogether.
It seems as though WWE Network and other related TV-related deals have cost Vince McMahon and company a fair bit of money. If this comes to fruition, it could well cost him some more.
