As someone who calls Sandy Koufax my brother, I don’t understand what the fuss was about this commercial. In fact, I found it to be quite humorous. But apparently many Catholics complained about this proposed Doritos ad that could have run during the Super Bowl, as I learned from Ben Maller. Here’s the user-submitted video:
Don’t get things confused — that commercial was submitted by a user as part of the “Crash the Super Bowl” contest Pepsi and Doritos is running. I thought it was pretty funny but I guess it wouldn’t go over well with a good portion of the country. But as we learned last year with the Tim Tebow commercial, there’s no such thing as bad publicity.
