Alex Bregman sends awesome tweet after first All-Star Game nod

Alex Bregman

Alex Bregman enjoyed a breakout season with the Houston Astros last year, and it seemed like only a matter of time before he was selected to his first All-Star roster. That time happened to be 2018, and the 24-year-old is thrilled about it.

After he was selected as an American League reserve behind starting third baseman Jose Ramirez, Bregman took to Twitter to express his excitement.

Bregman’s play in 2017 is one of the reasons the Astros won the World Series, and he has been even better this season. He’s hitting .281 with 17 home runs and 57 RBI, and he’s played in all but three games for Houston.

We have already seen some players express frustration over being snubbed, and Bregman’s tweet is a reminder of how important a seemingly meaningless exhibition game can be.
