Mike Francesa ridiculed caller who predicted Luis Severino’s early wild-card game exit

Hopefully Mike Francesa has something to flavor the crow he’s eating today.

A clip went viral on Wednesday of Francesa ridiculing a caller to his WFAN radio show the day before for suggesting that New York Yankees righty Luis Severino could get pulled in the first inning of the AL wild-card game.

In the clip, Francesa dismisses the caller’s notion as “ridiculous,” pointed to Severino’s track record this season, and made his own prediction that the All-Star pitcher would go for seven innings in a “typical Severino performance.”

The caller’s clairvoyance ultimately proved correct — Severino was indeed pulled in the first against the Minnesota Twins after serving up four hits (including two homers) for three earned runs and retiring just one batter. Social media let him hear it afterwards, though the Yankees rallied to win 8-4.

As for Francesa, he has certainly had some entertaining missteps on the air over the years, so just add this to his greatest hits list.
