The team promptly stopped their pursuit of Chapman and made Kimbrel the target, eventually acquiring him on November 14 for a package of prospects.
Chapman is accused of putting his hands around his girlfriend’s neck and firing multiple shots at a concrete wall in his garage. The Dodgers were poised to acquire him via trade, but it’s been put on hold in light of the report, and it seems unlikely that Chapman will be moved as long as Major League Baseball’s investigation is ongoing.
