Steven Matz has a grown man’s job ahead of him: The task of trying to beat the Kansas City Royals in the World Series. Despite being an adult with serious responsibilities, Matz is not too old to stay with his parents.
The 24-year-old New York Mets pitcher is from Long Island and will be commuting from his parents’ Stony Brook home for his World Series start in Game 4 on Saturday:

Matz was drafted out of high school in the second round in 2009 and was spectacular in the minors until being called up this year. He has battled a few different injuries this season but made four starts in September and two so far in the playoffs. He’s 0-1 with a 3.77 ERA in the postseason after going 4-0 with a 2.27 ERA in the regular season.
Perhaps the friendly and familiar environment of his parents’ home in Stony Brook will help him focus for his big task ahead on Saturday. And if this famous New York athlete has shown us anything, it’s that nobody should be ashamed of their living situation.
