Air Canada Centre roof springs leak ahead of Raptors’ playoff game
The scheduled playoff opener between the Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards was briefly delayed by an unlikely obstacle.
With Toronto experiencing heavy precipitation on Saturday, the roof at Air Canada Centre was leaking ahead of tipoff in Game 1, resulting in a brief delay in the opener of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
Hearing there's a roof leak at the Air Canada Centre. The Wizards' security guy is standing on the baseline, pointing up to the roof. There's a towel on the floor. #Raptors #icestorm #nbaplayoffs

Update: the ACC roof is leaking. Men with towels are definitely wiping the floor right now.

Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time in 2018 something like this has happened. Since the leak was dripping onto the court, it wasn’t something that both teams could just play through.
Game 1 was slightly delayed, but things did eventually tip off, so apparently everything checked out alright — eventually.
