With less than two hours to go before scheduled kickoff of the National Championship game, Mercedes-Benz Stadium may have a bit of an issue.
Multiple reporters said Monday evening that there was some sort of leak coming through the roof of the stadium onto the field.
It appears UGA has noticed a slight drip drip coming down from the roof of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Right around the 25-yard line between the hashes. pic.twitter.com/yk5ghl4elc

Standing on the field and there is clear and steady water coming from the Mercedes Benz Stadium roof.

So there is a fairly steady drop of water falling from the ceiling on the field in front of us, here at the 20 yard line closest to the end zone that says Georgia.

Georgia ops director Josh Lee just came out with a CFB official and briefly inspected the area around the leak. They got on their phones and left the field.

True.
Also…MBS was built to be an outdoor stadium. The plan was (as long as the roof worked) to leave it open unless there was a 50% chance of rain or more.
Obviously, it shouldn't leak when it is closed, though. https://t.co/cZb0Ef46i9

It’s hardly a power outage during the Super Bowl, but this is probably a headache for someone — and potentially something to watch once the game starts depending on what staffers are able to do about it.
