Byron Scott says Instagram was hacked when he challenged fan to fight

Byron-Scott

Byron Scott did not challenge an Instagram follower to a fight, or so he says.

Last week, Scott received a bunch of nasty comments after he (or whoever runs his account) shared a video of the Los Angeles Lakers coach getting a boxing workout in. When one person insinuated that he wanted to fight Scott, an entertaining exchange followed:

On Tuesday, Scott shared a message on Instagram insisting he was hacked.

He later told reporters that he was told by the person who runs the account that the “problem is solved.”

“I got a good kick out of it, though,” Scott said, via The Associated Press. “When I got to read it, I said, ‘It kind of sounds like me.’ Somebody talking about doing something, ‘Yeah, come on over here.’ I’ve got to ask my guys what’s going on. He told me today, ‘The problem is solved,’ whatever that means.”

While I don’t doubt that it was someone other than Scott who responded to the heckler, I have a tough time believing he was “hacked” after what he said about his Instagram account a couple months back. Perhaps someone close to Scott got carried away.
