Dejounte Murray sent an interesting message via X on Thursday in response to the Frank Vogel firing.

In the weeks since the NBA’s regular season ended, we have seen both the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns fire their head coaches. The Lakers fired Darvin Ham days after losing in the first round of the playoffs, while the Suns fired Vogel on Thursday, a week after being swept in the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Murray, who just finished his second season with the Atlanta Hawks, made an interesting observation.

“It’s Crazy How Coaches Get Blamed Before The Players!!!!!” he wrote on X, adding a hand over the face emoji.

Murray makes a good point. But as the saying goes, it’s easy to fire the coach than all the players.

In addition to Ham and Vogel, the Charlotte Hornets and Brooklyn Nets fired their coaches and have hired replacements. The Washington Wizards are also looking to decide on their next head coach.

Beyond just Ham and Vogel, we’ve also seen the Milwaukee Bucks go down the same road. They fired Mike Budenholzer two years after winning a championship and Adrian Griffin after a 30-13 start to this season.

The lack of patience for coaches has become worse and worse, and Murray recognizes it.
