DeMarcus Cousins speaking out against George Karl hiring? (Video)

DeMarcus Cousins hit a game-winning buzzer-beater to lift the Sacramento Kings over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night, but he was in no mood to celebrate. Is that because the Kings are still nowhere near the playoff picture or because of the head coach they are about to hire?

Various reports have indicated that Cousins does not want to play for George Karl. In all likelihood, that’s why the big man was salty on Sunday.

“I ain’t pumped up, I just got a lot on my mind,” Cousins said, per Kurt Helin of Pro Basketball Talk. “Crazy thing about it, I just got a question for ya’ll, I just wanna know how you’re gonna stop God’s plan? How are you gonna do that? How are you gonna do that? This city put through me so much, I stayed loyal to it the whole time. God gives the hardest battles to the strongest souls. The marathon continues. I’m out.”

If Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé signs off on the Karl hiring, the veteran coach will be replacing Tyrone Corbin. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports that the Kings and Karl’s camp will meet again on Monday and are close to a deal.

Cousins is obviously frustrated by what has been written about him in the media. That doesn’t mean the information is inaccurate. Cousins has had some problems with coaches in the past and found out on Twitter about his last one being fired. He’d probably rather play for a young up-and-coming coach.
