There is no doubt Jeremy Lin has taken over New York and the entire sports world. The Harvard grad has captivated our hearts with six strong games for the Knicks — all wins — including a winning shot at the buzzer Tuesday.
Even though he’s the most talked about athlete in sports, he’s staying humble and maintaining a team focus.
“The amount of fun that we’ve had is … you look around everyone’s smiling, there’s new energy, everyone’s just excited. That’s the thing — it’s not because of me,” Lin said after Tuesday’s game. “It’s because we’re coming together as a team. We started making these steps early but we were still losing close games and so obviously it wasn’t fun. But when you win, that solves a lot of problems.
“We’ve been winning and we’ve been playing together. Offensively, defensively we’ve been following the gameplans. Coach D’Antoni and his staff come out with an awesome gameplan every single night. That’s why it’s fun — from top to bottom, training staff, everybody, it’s a collective effort right now. That’s the beauty of a team sport.”
Lin’s approach will endear him to teammates and fans. Not only do we have a budding star who’s enjoyable to watch because of his play, but he’s also modest. You can’t handle instant success much better than Lin has.Google+
