JJ Redick defends Warriors, criticizes complaints about superteams
J.J. Redick is not buying all those concerns about the Golden State Warriors wrecking competitive balance in the NBA.
Redick sent out a few tweets on Thursday defending the Warriors and calling out some of the hypocrisy in the criticisms that have been aimed at Golden State and new signing Kevin Durant.
Since Miami formed their "superteam" in '10 there have been 5 different champs in 6 seasons. All this complaining about comp balance is ?.

Boston formed a "superteam" in '08 but did thru trades. Ok for teams to group greats 2gether but not for players to decide to do that?

Players should have freedom to decide where they want to play. Period.

Redick raises some solid points. Yes, the talent level of Golden State is incredible, but Cleveland’s big three of LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving came about via free agency, trade, and the draft. The Warriors just broke the regular season wins record with a largely home-grown team and failed to take home the title. The concept of a superteam isn’t new or unique to these Warriors, and whatever the commissioner may say, if the NBA survived those Heat, those Celtics, and even further back, the dominance of the 1990s Chicago Bulls without any real issue, they will survive these Warriors as well. In fact, it might even be good for the league, as one owner believes.
