A big fight between the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves spilled into the crowd during the second quarter of Sunday’s game at Target Center in Minneapolis.
The first 16 minutes of the game featured some hard fouls and confrontations, and Pistons center Isaiah Stewart had already received a technical for shoving Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert. Things boiled over with 8:36 left in the second, when Minnesota’s Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo took offense to a foul from Detroit’s Ron Holland.
DiVincenzo and Holland began scuffling, and since the incident took place near the baseline, the situation quickly spilled into the stands. Fortunately, the situation did not escalate, but it was a scary scene for several moments.

Members of both coaching staffs also got involved in a shoving match as things cooled down.

Reid and DiVincenzo were both ejected for Minnesota, as was assistant coach Pablo Prigioni. Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff was ejected, along with Stewart, Holland, and Marcus Sasser.
Fines and suspensions are probably inevitable, as the NBA will likely come down hard on any incident that spills into the stands like this one did. That could be particularly problematic for Stewart, who is no stranger to discipline from the league office.
