Report: Lamar Odom walked out on family’s intervention attempt
Friends and family have been trying to convince Lamar Odom to seek help in the wake of him resorting to some of his old habits, but the former NBA star is reportedly not interested in hearing what other people have to say.
A report from Extra claims some family members made an unsuccessful attempt at staging an intervention for Odom in New York Friday night. A source told the gossip publication that Odom’s aunt, children and ex-wife were among those in attendance, but an “extremely surprised” Odom walked out.
Odom’s cousin has reportedly reached out to Darryl Strawberry in an attempt to have the former MLB player convince Odom to start a program at the Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center in Florida. Strawberry is said to have joined the intervention via video chat.
Things do not appear to be going well for Odom more than eight months after he nearly lost his life to a drug overdose. His estranged wife Khloe Kardashian has kicked Lamar out of the home she was renting for him, and Odom reportedly caused a scene on a plane recently and had to be removed. He obviously needs professional help.
