LeBron James, Kyrie Irving weren’t feeling Kevin Love’s Reggie Bush-LenDale White comparison
Kevin Love left some of his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates perplexed with a comparison he used to describe them after the Cavs’ win over the Toronto Raptors in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday night.
After the game, Love, who had 14 points, compared LeBron James and Kyrie Irving to USC’s former stellar running back tandem of Reggie Bush and LenDale White. James and Kyrie were pretty bewildered by the comparison.
Kyrie & LeBron had no comment on Love's comparison of them to Reggie Bush & LenDale White. https://t.co/6vUzTOKfjI

Love is a former UCLA basketball player who followed Pac-12 athletics pretty closely, so the image of Bush and LenDale running around, over and through opposing defenses probably is pretty strong in his mind. Love probably still views them as the incredible tandem they were at USC, not the sometimes flashy but oft-injured and now out-of-football running backs they became in the pros.
James and Kyrie were no doubt confused by the comparison — for good reason — but Love’s heart was in the right place with it, however odd it may have seen.
