Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins got into it with point guard Jerryd Bayless in the fourth quarter of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals on Sunday.
Bayless entered the game for Tony Allen with 4:43 left in the fourth quarter and the Grizzlies down 87-79 to the San Antonio Spurs. Hollins pulled Bayless less than a minute later, and shoved him to the bench. He was likely upset with the poor defense Bayless was playing on Tony Parker. It’s unclear what Bayless did to provoke the shove.
Despite the apparent issues between the two, Hollins brought Bayless back in a minute and a half later. Bayless’ defense on Parker did not improve. Tony scored 37 points on 15-21 shooting in the game, leading San Antonio to a 93-86 win and series sweep over the Grizzlies.
