LSU head coach Lane Kiffin did not pull any punches regarding Clemson’s efforts during Saturday’s blowout victory.
Kiffin more or less insulted Clemson’s performance after LSU beat them 51-10 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge on Saturday night. The LSU coach said he had expected a closer game, and went as far as to say that his scout team offense had outperformed Clemson’s.
“I didn’t know they’d be that dysfunctional on offense,” Kiffin said of Clemson.
I caught Lane Kiffin on the field after press conferences and asked if he was surprised: "I thought it'd be like 35-7, 35-10" he said but "I didn't know they'd be that dysfunctional on offense." Noted that LSU scout team scored more on their defense than Clemson did.

Saturday’s game felt a little bit personal. LSU was mired in controversy for much of the week as they tried to bring in transfer players who had spent time in NFL training camps this summer. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney was among many who were critical of that.
Kiffin, of course, hardly cared. He even made light of the situation after deciding to hold two of his controversial transfer players out of Saturday’s game, and as he eagerly pointed out, he was able to win without them.
