Despite all the issues they’ve had to deal with this season, the Houston Rockets coaching job is actually a fairly attractive one. No surprise, then, that one of the hottest potential candidates is on their radar.
According to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, the Rockets have received permission to speak to Warriors assistant Luke Walton.

Houston has a lot to offer. They have a franchise player in James Harden, a spot that is attractive to free agents, and the cap room to lure a top free agent with Dwight Howard almost certain to opt out.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that Walton bolts for the first coaching opportunity he gets. That said, the Rockets are probably in a better spot organizationally than this potential suitor, and they’re definitely a more attractive job than another team Walton has already met with.
