Report: Sixers eyeing Kyle Korver trade
The Philadelphia 76ers may not be done just yet after their blockbuster trade for Jimmy Butler.
Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer reported this weekend that the Sixers discussed veteran sharpshooter Kyle Korver with the Cleveland Cavaliers over the summer and still retain interest in him following the Butler deal.
Philly now has a serious need for floor spacing, as they just sent two of their top threats from deep in Robert Covington and Dario Saric to Minnesota in the Butler trade. Additionally, the team has two major non-shooters in Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz factoring heavily into their lineup.
As for the 37-year-old Korver, who actually spent the first five seasons of his career with the Sixers from 2003 to 2007, he has had a rough year so far with averages of 5.5 points in just 15.3 minutes per game. However, much of that seems to be tied to Korver’s increasingly toxic situation in Cleveland, and he would almost certainly benefit from a change of scenery with a contender.
