Twitter reacts to Collin Sexton’s intense Summer League defense
It may just be Summer League, but don’t tell Collin Sexton that.
During the Cleveland Cavaliers’ semifinal game against the LA Lakers in Las Vegas on Monday, the Cavs rookie put on an impassioned display on the final defensive possession of regulation. Guarding Lakers guard Josh Hart in isolation with the score tied at 98 and just seconds to go, Sexton got into an intense stance with his arms out in front and bared his teeth at his opponent.
I thought i had seen it all and then i watched Collin Sexton try to intimidate his opponent by flexing on DEFENSE thank you so much for this pic.twitter.com/v5NaATVmWR

Hart would go on to pull up for a three and miss, giving the Cavs the ball back with 1.6 seconds left. While the game eventually went into double overtime where the Cavs lost by the final of 112-109, Twitter loved Sexton’s ferocity.

For the 19-year-old Sexton, who went No. 8 overall in this year’s draft, it was a glowing all-around performance. He ended up with 27 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 32 minutes of play. He also earned a shoutout on Twitter from Cavs owner Dan Gilbert for the effort.
Hell of a run by @CollinYoungBull and the the entire @Cavs Summer League squad. These guys repped the franchise and the city of Cleveland with character, heart and guts we plan to continue this Fall…

Sexton was doing all these things and more in college, and Cavs fans probably feel a little better about LeBron James’ departure with their voracious rookie guard now in tow.
