Kyle Busch responded on Sunday night after his incident with Ross Chastain during the final lap of the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

Busch and Chastain were battling for fifth place during the final lap of the NASCAR Cup Series race. The two were in the chute on the road course, and Chastain’s No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Trackhouse Racing nudged Busch’s No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing. Busch went sideways following the contact.

Busch regrouped but still finished just 12th in the race, while Chastain secured the 5th-place spot.

After the race, Busch comment on what had happened.

“A couple of guys there at the end of the race had better tires than we did but we were going to have a good day. Unfortunately, one of those guys got into us on the last lap and ruined our day. It’s frustrating to not get the finish that we deserved,” Busch said afterwards.

Chastain got the finish he wanted, but Busch did not get the finish he felt he deserved.
