Jayson Tatum pulls a Kevin Garnett after winning championship
The way Jayson Tatum celebrated after winning the NBA championship reminded many Boston Celtics and NBA fans of what Kevin Garnett did 16 years earlier.
During an interview after winning the championship with a 106-88 win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday, Tatum put his hands on his head and yelled out, “we did it!”

That reminded fans so much of what Garnett did after the Celtics won the championship in 2008.
“Anything is possible!” Garnett yelled out.

The way Tatum repeated his line was exactly what Garnett had done. It’s almost as if Tatum had practiced and rehearsed his celebration. He sure nailed it.
Now the duo of Tatum and Jaylen Brown, plus Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday and others, have brought the Celtics championship No. 18. Magic Johnson is not happy about being surpassed.
