Report: College basketball player turned down $2 million NIL offer
A college basketball player who was in the transfer portal reportedly turned down a $2 million Name, Image and Likeness deal.
Clifford Omoruyi, a 6-foot-11 center who was leaving Rutgers as a graduate transfer, has committed to Alabama, we learned on Sunday. Even more notably, On3’s Joe Tipton reported that Omoruyi turned down a $2 million deal before choosing the Crimson Tide.
I was told this morning that Cliff received a $2 million NIL offer from a school while going through the portal process.
And it was not from Alabama. https://t.co/s1eox6mRsQ

Omoruyi also considered North Carolina, Georgetown, and Kansas State before picking Alabama.
It’s unclear if any of those three schools were the one that offered Omoruyi the $2 million deal.
Omoruyi has averaged 10.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game during his college career, all of which has been spent at Rutgers. He averaged 10.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game as a senior for the Scarlet Knights last season.
