Sunday was a rough day for Doug Gottlieb.
The CBS Sports host/analyst was adamant on Selection Sunday that Syracuse should not be in the NCAA Tournament. He felt given their record, weak strength of schedule, and overall resume, that they did not deserve in over other at-large teams, such as Monmouth.
At first the Orange won their first two tourney games to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. Gottlieb maintained his stance during his radio show:
But after this weekend, with Syracuse beating Gonzaga and then Virginia to reach the Final Four, Gottlieb really had nothing to say to Syracuse fans.
