Duke fan taunts Adam Morrison at Elite Eight game

Adam Morrison crying

No matter how much time passes, Adam Morrison will always be a popular target among sports fans. The guy was a stud at Gonzaga and became nationally known for battling J.J. Redick for Player of the Year honors, which they later shared. Then it was a series of missteps that made him easy to pick on. First he cried on the court during the NCAA Tournament; then he was a draft bust for the Bobcats; then he won rings as a bench player for the Lakers; and then his overall fashion and style had critics laughing.

With his professional career long over, Morrison has returned to his collegiate roots and is now an assistant on the Gonzaga staff. That means he was present for all of the team’s games, including their loss to Duke in the Elite Eight on Sunday. And even though he was not playing, he was not spared from the fan taunts.

Check out what Seattle Times columnist Jerry Brewer tweeted Sunday:

Their Player of the Year battles may have been years ago, but Morrison and Redick will always be tied together in the eyes of the fans. And we love that Morrison left such a mark on the college basketball world that fans still try to taunt him whenever they can. That’s a testament to how good and memorable of a player he was.
