Kansas’ Allen Fieldhouse listed as loudest arena by NCAA.com

What are the loudest college basketball venues in the country? As a former UCLA student, I can tell you that Pauley Pavilion won’t come close to making the cut. But NCAA.com came up with its top five loudest, most intimidating arenas, and Kansas’ Allen Fieldhouse topped the list.

Here’s their list:

    1. Allen Fieldhouse – Kansas
    2. Cameron Indoor Stadium – Duke
    3. Carrier Dome – Syracuse
    4. Gallagher-Iba Arena – Oklahoma State
    5. The Pit – New Mexico

Kentucky’s Rupp Arena surprisingly did not make the cut. Oregon’s McArthur Court is also a pretty loud and intimidating environment that may work its way up the list. And I know LBS’ Crab Man will make the argument that Indiana’s Assembly Hall should make the cut.

Have Duke fans freaked out about this list yet? They’re probably flipping out that they weren’t ranked first.
