The full police report from the stabbing that took place at a high school track meet at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas, last week has been released, and it contains detailed information about the alleged events that took place before the fatal incident.
Austin Metcalf, a junior Memorial High School in Frisco, was stabbed after he allegedly got into an altercation with 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony, who is a student at Centennial High School in Frisco. Reports indicated that the dispute began after Metcalf told Anthony he was sitting in the wrong spot. Metcalf was stabbed in the heart.
Multiple witnesses told Frisco Police Department officers who responded to the scene that Anthony had been seated under a tent for Memorial High School when the confrontation began. Metcalf allegedly told Anthony that he could not sit under the tent since he did not go to the school. At that point, a witness says Anthony grabbed a bag and reached inside of it before telling Metcalf, “Touch me and see what happens.”

The witness said Metcalf then “grabbed Anthony to tell him to move.” Anthony then allegedly took out a black knife and stabbed Metcalf once in the chest before fleeing the scene.
Metcalf’s twin brother, Hunter Metcalf, told police a similar story. Hunter said Anthony had sat under the Memorial tent and was told by Austin that it was reserved for those who went to the school. Hunter said Austin “stood up and pushed (Anthony) to get him out of the tent,” at which point Anthony grabbed the knife and stabbed Austin.

Police said Anthony admitted to stabbing Metcalf and said he was “protecting myself.” Anthony asked one officer if the officer thought what Anthony did could be considered an act of self-defense.
Anthony has been charged with first-degree murder and was being held in the Collin County jail on $1 million bond as of Tuesday. Anthony’s father told a media outlet that his son was not the aggressor in the incident.
Metcalf was a member of Memorial High School’s track and field team, a team MVP as a linebacker on the varsity football team, and a member of the National Honor Society.
