Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson has become known for being a controversial figure in college basketball. The junior guard from Hurst, Texas, is averaging over 19 points per game and has led the Rebels to a 17-2 record and 6-0 start in the SEC. During Tuesday’s matchup between Ole Miss and Kentucky, Henderson didn’t wait long to show his fiery side.
A piece of ice supposedly was thrown on the court by someone from the Ole Miss student section about seven minutes into the game. Henderson picked it up and fired it back at the student section.
Henderson began his career at Utah, transferred to Texas Tech, and ended up at a junior college last season. He left Texas Tech without playing a game there after Pat Knight was fired, and he led South Plains college to a 36-0 record last season.
In his first season with Ole Miss, Henderson has made headlines for his brash behavior, which included taunting Auburn’s fans after making two free throws to beat the Tigers on Saturday:
If I had to compare Henderson to someone, I’d say Tyrann Mathieu. They play different sports, but they have similar flare and personality.
