Bo Pelini Chews Out Taylor Martinez, Refs After Nebraska Penalized 16 Times in Loss

Nebraska blew a chance to clinch the Big 12 North Saturday night at College Station when they fell to Texas A&M 9-6. Huskers quarterback Taylor Martinez was injured early in the game when his ankle was stepped on by a lineman during a running play. Head Coach Bo Pelini lost his mind during the game, seeing his offense do very little. In the second quarter he chewed out Taylor Martinez on the sidelines, and throughout the game he was yelling at the refs, even earning an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the 4th quarter. Here’s the video of him chewing out Taylor Martinez in the second quarter:

Pelini’s anger towards the refs was justified; the Huskers were penalized 16 times for 145 yards while Texas A&M only was flagged twice for 10 yards. The most egregious call was a roughing the passer penalty on safety Courtney Osborne who nailed Ryan Tannehill on a 3rd down play. Instead of A&M having a 4th and 11 late in the game and being forced to punt, the penalty put them in position to kick the go-ahead field goal with 3:25 left.

NEWS: Taylor Martinez has not left the Nebraska program

Nebraska can still clinch the Big 12 North with a win over Colorado on Friday. After that, a rematch with Oklahoma State is likely in store in the Big 12 Championship Game. Though Pelini was upset for a good reason, he has to maintain his composure better than that. It’s pretty clear all his bitching only hurt his team more than it helped. When they talk about Texas A&M having the 12th man at Kyle Field, now I know what they meant.

As long as you are posting Bo’s blowout, please post the video of Husker Ben Cotton getting forcibly grabbed and pinched in the hamstring and groin by A&M Tony Jerod-Eddie. I work for a prosecutor in Nebraska, and no matter what state you are in, Jerod-Eddie criminally assaulted, possibly sexually assaulted Cotton. You can find the video on youtube. Thank you.

Most of the penalties were objective (i.e. motion etc.) and not subjective (holding personal fouls etc.). The only questionable penalty was the roughing the passer call. Other than that, all were okay.
Nebraska was way overrated if they were unable to overcome one bad call….

From my extensive experience working as a football offical, it is my observation that teams tend to mirror their coach and leadership. The way that Bo carried on in that game with Martinez, his assitant coaches, his defence and his verbal lashing of the officals, dropping one “F” bomb after another it is no wonder his team was penalized over 16 times in the game.

Yes, Sally, and pretty much every play in a football game has an incident that could technically be considered criminal assault. I am not excusing the A&M player for what he did but anybody who doesn’t think that biting, kicking, spitting, pinching and grabbing goes on in every single pile for a loose ball has not only never played football but is extremely naive. The only bad call made by the referees in the game was the phantom roughing the passer. Bad call, no doubt. But I have seen almost nothing but complaints about how that cost Nebraska the game. Had the call not been made then A&M would have punted, the score would have still been 6-6, and I saw nothing throughout the game before or after that would leave me to believe that Nebraska would have driven the length of the field for the winning score. More likely that Nebraska would have had to punt back to A&M with about 3 minutes left and A&M would have gotten in position to kick a game winning field goal as time ran out. The final score in that scenario??? 9-6. Imagine that…

See baseball managers screaming, yelling, kicking dirt, getting kicked out of the game all the time. They get cheered walking off the field. Bo gets a “shame on you”. For God’s sake this is football people. Or should we all get some ice cream, sit around the table & “talk about our feelings”?

ve spent the last two days reading the flood of comments from Nebraska fans, and all I can say is…..I’m disappointed. One of the best things of being in the Big 12 was playing against storied programs like Oklahoma, Nebraska and even U of Texas, our traditional arch enemy. All three programs have multiple national championships, Heisman winners, and supposedly knowledgeable fans, and all three knew how to win or LOSE with class. I guess we can drop Nebraska from that list now. I’ve never heard so much whining in my life. “The refs were out to get us”, “they groped our players”, waaah, waaah, waaah. You ran into a defense as good as your own, you got outplayed, you lost a football game, Jeez-Louise DEAL WITH IT AND QUIT WHINING. Once you move to the Big 10 (why wait? Go NOW!), I may, for the first time in my life, root for Ohio State.

This is not the NFL NBA or MLB. These are young athletes who’s education should be the top priority not winning a foortball game for the couch. They are not being paid multi million dollar contracts like the couch is. I see this going on in the high school level in our area. It sickens me. If I had been that QB I would have walked off the field right then and there our whopped him up side the head with my helmet. No one would screem in my face like that without some kind of negative reaction.
AS for the player playing grab a## in the pile. It comes as no surprise when you have a couch like that teaching you bad behavior by his own actions. That went beyond normal pile activity. That was perverse.

Hi, everyone. I’m not whining UNFAIR or OUT TO GET US or anything like that. Born a Husker Fan, so there’s no “wannabe” about it. A win is a win, a loss is a loss, and on to the next. Bo Pelini is a grown man with responsibilities, and if his supervisors wanna can him, then so be it. I was just addressing the pile grab incident. Is this something that A&M teaches their players to do? Or did Jerod-Eddie act on his own? I think A&M’s Jerod-Eddie would be in more of his element on a prison team, rather than on a field with college students.

The gum chewing fool really represents the university of cornholers very well!

Why do you think it took him so long to finally land a head coaching position!

They don’t call him mr personality for nothing!

Did I mentioned that the gum chewing fool runs a glorified high scool offense too?

The reason that Bo did not get the job after Solich was that He wet himself in the fourth quarter against Mich. St. getting a penalty just like Sat. Until he gets some self control i.e. not having to wear depends on the sidelines. The Huskers will continue to have penalty problems. It’s difficult to watch being a husker fan for life!

There were absolutely bad calls made by the refs in the NU vs TAM game. The issue is why. There are only two outcomes. They didn’t see it or the calls (or lack of them) were intentional. I’d like to believe they were not seen, but the video of the grope is just too overwhelmingly obvious. I believe there is some well-placed whining deserved here. Nebraska was cheating and was flagged for it. TAM was cheating as was not flagged for it. The team with the fewest flags won the game. Everyone will form their own opinion and no one wins. No one is penalized except the ones who got caught. So, does this make TAM a better cheater than Nebraska or do the refs really have something to do with the outcome? Either one is bad news.

And all if heard from Ag fans is sanctimonious drivel. Reverse the calls and outcome of the game y’all (I think that’s proper in TX) would be singing the same tune – complete with incessant whining. Its hard to lose with class when you feel like you got worked. So go ahead and drop NU from your personal “Classy” team list if you want, but if you do so it will be solely on the faceless comments made by a minority of rabid fans on the web. If you ever went to a game at NU or elsewhere you’d find that Huskers fans are very good, courteous, respectful fans. Nice win A&M and enjoy the rest of your season.

The idiot that said you should be able to over come one call is a double idiot and a a and m fan. Do you think they were not holding nebr. all day. 2 penilitys, may god. The zebras talked and picked up one more. did they do this for nebr. even discuss it. Not NOt.Not. They average 8 peniltys a game and we sure were not slower or worse players than they. See who has the more people on the big 12 team. My god not objective thinking at all or like i said an idiot. Then there double not clsssy fans and coach were jumping around and saying they beat a big time team and are on the way up. A half speed qb or a 2nd stringer and much favoritism and they think they did something. Nebr. could have over come all the bad calls except the late hit that give them the ball again. Even May, and LOu h said it was a bummer or rob job. If a and m thinks they are good and did someting wow are they losers. How about the grope job on Cotton, The guy should be suspended for sure. but will probably not be as he is not nebe.
