UCLA sophomore defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes threw a punch at the bottom of a pile during Saturday’s loss to Oregon, and the Pac-12 will review the play for potential discipline.
The punch occurred during Oregon’s first drive of the second quarter while they led the Bruins 8-3. A referee saw Vanderdoes punch Oregon’s Thomas Tyner after the running back rushed for four yards near midfield. Vanderdoes received a penalty for the personal foul but luckily avoided an ejection.
Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott said the Vanderdoes punch will be reviewed as “possibly a fighting act.”

UCLA coach Jim Mora handled the matter internally.
Jim Mora said he spoke with Eddie Vanderdoes about his punch on the field. He said there won't be any further in-house discipline.
