Josh Rosen still struggling to throw passes
Anyone who was thinking Josh Rosen might be able to return after UCLA’s bye week might be disappointed.
The Bruins sophomore quarterback struggled to throw passes during UCLA’s practice on Saturday according to reporters in attendance:
Josh Rosen threw short passes mostly with left arm at beginning of practice. Threw a few sad-looking passes w right arm. #UCLA #RosenWatch

Josh Rosen was throwing right-handed passes but they had the mustard of 5th grade PE class. He is holding back and it's not a good sign.

Rosen has missed UCLA’s last two games and parts of the game before that — all three of which the Bruins lost.
UCLA head coach Jim Mora revealed during the week that Rosen has a nerve issue in his shoulder that is preventing him from throwing. There is currently no timetable on his return, but Mora did say as soon as Rosen’s nerve starts firing, his return should be pretty quick.
The Bruins have slipped to 3-5 on the season. Since a season-opening loss to Texas A&M in which he threw three interceptions, Rosen had accounted for 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He’s projected as a potential top overall pick whenever he decides to leave UCLA for the NFL.
