The biggest question from the college football offseason was finally answered on Monday night when Ohio State sent Cardale Jones out to start their season-opening game against Virginia Tech. Jones beat out JT Barrett for the job, a year after Barrett beat him out for the gig once Braxton Miller went down.
Though Barrett is not the starter, he has been actively trying to help his team in his role as one of the captains. Perhaps he got his humility from his parents, who also have a team-first attitude.

“12” is the jersey number of Jones. Though she is clearly a team player, she always wants to see her son in there. She sent this tweet after the first half:
I need a and the other one to help us!! Getting on the bat phone now!!

“The other one” is a reference to how Urban Meyer described her son in a halftime interview.
“Cardale’s doing OK, but we might get the other one ready too,” Meyer said of his quarterback situation at halftime in an interview with ESPN.
Maybe that’s Meyer’s way of saying he has a QB 1-A and QB 1-B and that the options are pretty interchangeable.
Combine this tweet from Barrett’s mom with what his dad said about Braxton Miller, and there is little doubt that the Miller family is unselfish.
