Urban Meyer promised to get an Ohio State tattoo
If Ohio State was unable to shut down Oregon’s offense and lost to the Ducks in the BCS National Championship Game on Monday night, there would be one tiny silver lining for Urban Meyer — he wouldn’t have to get a tattoo.
According to Buckeyes tight end Jeff Heuerman, Meyer promised his players after they beat Alabama that he would get a tattoo if they defeated Oregon.
“He promised us after we beat ‘Bama in the locker room that if we won the next one, he’d get a tattoo,” Heuerman said, via Nicole Auerbach of USA Today Sports.
The Buckeyes didn’t just beat Oregon, they won by more than three touchdowns. Ohio State overcame four turnovers and shut down Marcus Mariota and company. And Heuerman has no intention of letting Meyer off the hook.
“The first thing that went through my head (after Monday night’s win) is, Coach Meyer’s getting a tattoo,” the senior said. “I’ll supervise it. Trust me, I’m going to be right next to him.”
While Meyer never said where on his body he would get the ink, he did tell his players he would get Ohio State’s Block O logo.
Rick Pitino made the same type of promise to his players a couple years back, and he followed through with this work of art. You’re move, Urb.
