Jenny Dell goes to prom with high school junior
Trying to get a celebrity or television personality to go to prom with you on Twitter is one of the most popular moves a modern day high schooler can pull. It rarely works, but every now and then someone’s exhausting effort pays off. Such was the case with Rockland (Mass.) High School junior Cam Stuart, who went to prom with Jenny Dell on Thursday night.
It’s safe to say Stuart officially had the hottest prom date since Michelle Beadle killed it with her boy Jack Joblonski a few weeks ago. Stuart and his friends started a campaign on Twitter back in the fall to convince Dell to be his prom date, and eventually the former Red Sox sideline reporter responded. I hate to break it to Will Middlebrooks, but Dell and Stuart looked like a great pair.
“I thought it was fantastic,” Dell told WCVB in Boston when asked about Stuart’s invitation. “When you see someone that puts that much time and effort into something, you have to take the time and give him the benefit of the doubt.
“There’s been people who have tweeted out here or there, ‘Will you come to prom with me?’, ‘Would you be my date to this wedding?’ but nothing like the effort that this man put in right here.”
Judging by Stuart’s Twitter account on Friday morning, it sounds the 16-year-old had a great time:
