Server fired by restaurant for publicizing Peyton Manning’s big tip

Peyton Manning left a generous tip after eating at Angus Barn in North Carolina last week, and the server who shared a picture of the receipt has now been fired.

“This goes against every policy we have,” said Van Eure, owner and operator of the restaurant. “It’s just horrible.”

Eure’s issue is that the restaurant serves many celebrities, and sharing a picture of someone’s receipt violates a customer’s privacy. Eure plans to call Peyton to apologize.

Many people are probably wondering what the problem is; it’s not like the server criticized Peyton for leaving a small tip — they publicized how generous he is. Still, Eure’s point is that in order for celebrities to feel comfortable dining at the restaurant, they need to know that everything about the experience will remain private. Firing the server sends that message to everyone else on the staff.
