Cam Newton questions coaches after loss, wears furry sweater (Video)

Breaking sports news video. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL highlights and more.

Cam Newton questioned his coaches following the Carolina Panthers’ 19-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, and he did it at a time when his demeanor after games has been scrutinized.

“The past couple of games has been the same script, by the same director … it’s kind of getting boring,” Newton said. “This taste, this vibe … I’m not buying it. And I don’t know what it is, but something’s gotta change. Something’s going to have to change real fast,” he vented.

Newton went 21/37 for 233 yards a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed for 64 yards on six carries. He was critical of himself for throwing an interception in the end zone in the second quarter, and spoke about the offense needing more balance.

“I’m not the playcaller. If I’m speaking for [offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski], you gotta keep a balanced offense,” he said when a reporter asked about the pass-heavy game. “When we run the football, it hasn’t been exciting like we’ve wanted it to be, but you gotta call the plays. We gotta be more balanced. It’s evident.”

Newton really vented about the team playing too many close games.

“We just find a way to keep a game close and wait to see what happens at the end. I’m getting tired of it. That’s not a formula to win; domination is a formula to win.

“Everybody’s looking at it, it’s just not me. I feel like the Carolina Panthers are in a situation where we find a way to keep it close. Whether it’s me, I don’t know. Whether it’s the coordinator, I don’t know. Whether it’s the players overall, I don’t know. But we gotta change that. I’m looking forward to a game where we put up 35 points. Everybody does.”

The Panthers quarterback seemed to question his coaches once again.

“Whether it’s the execution, you can point out a lot of things that can come to us being defeated, but this is not it. This is not it. I’m not going to accept it. But I’m only going to control what I can control, and that is myself.”

Newton is so lost he said he was willing to take suggestions from reporters on how they can fix things and get better. He even called a female reporter “sweetheart,” when answering a question about what they need to change. It may not have been said maliciously, but that does not come across to me as professional athlete-reporter conduct.

Newton’s postgame body language and behavior has been so bad that even his father says he needs to change. Guess that’s not something he worked on over the bye week while he was busy discovering his inner child.

I am not a big Cam fan, but this is another case of media over hyping someone before the athlete gives evidence that he/she will be a superstar for the long haul.  Did he have an awesome first year yes, but defenses weren’t ready for him and now they are and it shows.

Yet another player who thinks he’s better than he is…..average QB at best.  I’d love to be in that first offensive meeting this week and hear what the co-ordinator has to say!  Maybe some of the other offensive players?

Stop Crying so much and just play ball, also learn to keep poised need to watch film on Eli Manning and how he handles himself, no matter what the situation is whether winning or loosing a  game his  attitude  does not change, he also never put blame on no one has a team concept.  The team has to fix it and play better.  My opinion

This guy is a loser, to be a good top great Quarterback in the NFL you need to be a leader. Who in thier right mind would want to follow this knucklehead. As long as he is under Center in Carolina, the Panthers will be nothing more than after thoughts.

    The next Vince Young!

This couldn’t happen to anyone who deserves it more.  He’s always been a whining, crying, cheating lowlife.  It would suit me fine if he never won another game.  He just can’t get over himself.  Hey Cam….. karma.

Yayyy everyone who peaked athletically at the age of 4 is at it again.  Where were you last year after week 1?  Gotta love the Facebook mentality these days..  Let’s not focus on the fact the organization shoved $300+ million dollars down the throats of the core from a team that went 2-14.  You know, real life stories that choke the ability of a new head coach to get the guys in to run his schemes.  Newton may not be a pro’s pro when it comes to mic time, but he’s dead on in his assessments.  The coordinators have done nothing in terms of adjusting to the league adjusting to Cam.  D Will got paid $260,000 per carry in week 7.  Why is this team paying the backfield $100+ million dollars in a pass-happy offense?  What happened to the I-form?  Dot dot dot . . . Think before you speak folks.

Then I guess Steve Smith a racist also.
