NFL Players Having Hotel Sex Parties?

We all know that there are plenty of things that go on with NFL players and NFL teams behind the scenes that remain “in-house.”  That’s the nature of any business, and I’m sure the league, players, and coaches prefer it to stay that way.  When it doesn’t you wind up with scandals like the Vikings sex boat fiasco. Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, did not shy away from giving the public a glimpse into the lives of NFL stars and sharing some of the fun activities they like to participate in while on the road.  Here’s what Dwayne Bowe shared with ESPN The Magazine for their “Postcards From The Edge” feature — which consists of anecdotes from professional athletes — courtesy of Pro Football Talk.

My rookie year, we were playing in San Diego. You hear stories about groupies hanging out in hotel lobbies, but some of my teammates had it set up so there was a girl in every room. The older guys get on MySpace and Facebook a week before we go to a city; when a pretty one writes back, they arrange to fly her in three or four days in advance. They call it importing. Younger guys don’t have the money to do it.

Anyway, these girls had the whole top floor. They know everything about us — first and last names, sisters and brothers, salary. This one girl was talking to me like she’d known me for years. ‘Hey, D-Bowe, how’s Grandma?’ I’m like, ‘How do you know my grandma?’ She knew that I talk about her every time I’m interviewed for a story. I told her I had a girlfriend, but she didn’t care. She was wearing my jersey, sitting in my lap, making it look like we knew each other.  Then she took a picture and put it on Facebook. That almost got me in trouble.”

Yikes.  At the very least, D-Bowe is probably going to find himself in trouble with his teammates for being so loose-lipped about this — if not the NFL.  Some of his teammates will probably find themselves in trouble with their wives and girlfriends, too.  It sounds awfully close to prostitution, especially considering he said “younger guys don’t have the money to do it”.  It’s not exactly shocking to hear that things like this go on and it’s certainly not as bad as what Ben Roethlisberger has been up to in his free time.  However, it is pretty surprising to hear a player talk so openly about it.  We hear players and coaches saying things like, “that’s an in-house issue” all the time, and you’d think activities like this would represent a prime example of information that’s not to be shared with the public.

I can’t decide what surprises me more — the fact that NFL players are essentially having sex parties during their free time, or that Dwayne Bowe is such a big mouth.  I’m definitely leaning toward the latter.

Anyone who’s seen some of these pages on myspace or twitter shouldn’t be too surprised — most of it is just flirting anyways. Can’t believe how shameless these girls are.

almost got him in trouble? ya right. he did it and this is the story he’s sticking with

  • Phillip Rivers

Damn…..I should have paid attention in the Meetings……now I really blew it!

  • ThisGuy

D Bowe should have just kept his mouth shut, funny story though. Looks like he wont be getting any more invites to future sex parties though.

My only question for you is how you think Ben Roethlisberger having FREE sex with a younger girl is worse than NFL players PAYING for sex

  • http://fox Mo

    JZ- (FREE???)
    DUDE- Ben Raped her

  • Holla

D Bowe, Holla at your boy next time you in Seattle… I got some hoe’s for ya!!!

Whether “Pig Ben” raped anyone is unknown. He wasn’t charged and girls lie – the police report was very vague. If that was me, I’d be telling the cop little exact details.
Thus, the writer of the article is a fool for saying what they are doing is nowhere near as bad as what “Pig Ben” does, which is go bar hopping, get real drunk, get girls real drunk, and then have sex in the back room.
What these guys do is planned/premeditated deception behind their wives backs, not to mention essentially prostitution – flying them in, paying for their hotels, and possibly giving them gifts or paying them money.

No one ever invites me to sex parties. Maybe because I’m so overrated

Zoltan, the basis of your argument seems to be that one can’t assume Roethlisberger raped those girls because reports are vague and there are many unknowns. That’s a valid point, but why is it that you can assume married players are participating, assume girls are being paid for sex, and assume that you know the exact chain of events that happened when Roethlisberger went out to his parties? I’m not saying any of what you’re saying is about the sex parties is untrue, in fact I agree that it’s probably accurate. But, you’re letting Roethlisberger off the hook by assuming you know exactly what went on the nights of the incidents.

What can you expect? Ho’s going to hang out with young/rich athletes? Im SURE they got paid too …….its disgusting but all too common!

As the mother of a son who is a rookie in the nfl, im sure this crap is going to be there for him too …….hope hes smart enough to wrap it up or keep it ZIPPED UP!

One of these days, one of these skanks is going to yell RAPE just to get some media attention, at the expense of these athletes, because if you lie down with dogs you WILL wind up with fleas or WORSE!

WHO CARES???? They are young, rich, physical freaks of nature..let them screw anyone they want. Jesus, the soccer players around the world who are womanizer are revered by their countries. Here, our sexually repressed, Puritanical populace wants everyone to be a freaking virgin born-again.

Brandon, I think to a lot of people (myself included) this is more about how much of a bone head Bowe is for breaking the code of silence as an NFL player. Stuff like this goes on everywhere and I’m sure it has been for many years. If people find out about it, so be it and players have to deal with it. The real shocker is that someone like D-Bowe would just come out and casually share all this information with a major publication like ESPN The Magazine. It can’t sit well with the other players around the league.

Ben didnt rape her. I think if he had the police would have pressed charges, why didn’t they? Because she was up to no good is why. True, Ben shouldnt have done what he did or even been there, but the girl isnt totally innocent either, she was there for a purpose, and it wasnt to have a good time, more like getting the goods on Ben so she could collect later. Police didn’t swallow her story

  • Michael Zhivago

How is this not as bad as what ” Ben Roethlisberger has been up to in his free time.”? So far, all anyone really knows about what happened in Georgia-that can be corroborated by actual facts- is that Ben Roethlisberger went out with associates to celebrate his 28th birthday, went to a number of bars, drank and behaved crudely. What Mr. Bowe describes is the act of turning a floor of a hotel into a traveling house of prostitution. In any case, the act which Mr. Bowe so innocuously refers to as ‘importing’ is more commonly known to the law enforcement/legal community as ‘pandering’ or sometimes as ‘sex trafficing’ which IS a crime unlike the act of being a drunken jerk in a bar. How is one not as bad as the other?
