Emmitt Smith wants Cowboys to stick with Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys are going to have a major decision to make when Tony Romo returns, and Emmitt Smith is among those who believe the veteran quarterback should be holding a clip board.

After Dak Prescott led the Cowboys to a convincing road win over the Green Bay Packers Sunday, Smith tweeted the following:

Prescott finally threw his first career NFL interception, but he had arguably his best game of the season. The rookie outplayed Aaron Rodgers and completed 18-of-27 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns en route to a 30-16 victory.

At the very least, the Cowboys are not going to rush Romo back. Initial reports indicated he was targeting a Week 8 return after the bye, but that now sounds unlikely. With Dallas 5-1 and not having lost since Week 1, it will be difficult to justify making a change at quarterback. Smith isn’t the only Cowboys legend who feels that way.
