Goal Line Stand Propels Dolphins Past Vikings

It’s been said that Brad Childress and Brett Favre don’t see eye-to-eye on certain aspects of the game.  One thing I’m sure both quarterback and coach agreed upon was going for it on fourth down at the Dolphins 1-yard line late in the fourth quarter.  The Vikings went for it and it cost them.  Miami came up with a huge goal line stand against the Vikings and Adrian Peterson to run their record to 2-0 on the season.

In similar fashion to last weekend against the Saints, Brett Favre looked rusty and out of sync.  He threw three interceptions and squandered what could have been big drives for the Vikings.  The decision making of Old Man Brett and Childress cost Minnesota the game and forced them into the dreaded 0-2 club.

Despite the goal line stand, Minnesota still had a chance to win the game.  They stopped the Dolphins after turning the ball over on downs and got the ball back trailing 14-10 with about 2:00 remaining on the clock.  Consistent with the way he’s played so far this season, Favre was unable to lead his team to a comeback victory.

Is the old man a human being?  Maybe he’s still rusty and needs time to get back into rhythm after missing an entire off-season.  He might want to make it quick if the Vikings want to have a shot at making the playoffs this year.
