Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor appears to have announced his retirement from the NFL via Twitter.
In a statement posted to his social media account, Chancellor cited the neck injury that ended his 2017 season as the reason behind his decision to quit. He said his final test showed “no healing,” and a fear of paralysis was too much for him to play again.

Injuries certainly seem to be the driving motivation behind Chancellor’s decision to call it a career. He finishes his statement by asking fans to pray that he doesn’t have to cope with head injuries after his playing career.
Chancellor’s exit will leave a huge void in the Seattle secondary, but it certainly appears that they saw it coming.
