The Tennessee Titans appear to be moving toward a decision on the No. 1 overall pick, and it is bad news for teams that had hoped to trade with them for the top pick.
The Titans plan to hold another private workout with quarterback Cam Ward, and have become “increasingly impressed” with him, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Subsequently, while the Titans will still listen to trade offers for the No. 1 pick, it would take an “even stronger package” to get Tennessee to agree to a deal.

It certainly appears that the Titans are moving toward picking Ward, and the chances of anyone else moving up to No. 1 are dwindling. The New York Giants, in particular, have been linked to a possible trade, but they might just have to settle for staying at No. 3.
The Titans’ links to Ward have only grown throughout the pre-draft process. Initially, there were questions about whether the team would even go quarterback since this year’s class is not viewed as elite. There has been clear movement toward Ward since then, however, and the Titans are not hiding how interested they are in him.
Ward threw for 4,313 yards with 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions for Miami last season and finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting.
