Report: Player Seahawks cut is contemplating retirement
The Seattle Seahawks released Marcus Smith last week after the linebacker had been away from the team for personal reasons, and apparently he has been contemplating whether or not he wants to continue playing football.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported on Monday that Smith is leaning toward calling it a career after he played just four NFL seasons.
When the #Seahawks released former #Eagles first-round pick Marcus Smith, they said it was for personal reasons. My understanding is Smith is leaning towards retirement after just four seasons. He was not fully committed to playing in 2018.

Smith, a former star at Louisville, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles with the No. 26 overall pick in 2014, and the selection was considered a bit of a reach at the time. The 26-year-old signed with Seattle last season after being waived by the Eagles and appeared in 14 games, recording 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
